Now that school is officially out for pretty much everyone in Midland, Odessa and surrounding areas, the question is, what to do with the kids? For single, working mom's like myself, the task becomes finding a sitter. For others it is, well I have a teenager in my house now, is he/she old enough to stay home alone? Is he/she old enough to get a job?
This glorious mansion is on the market for 2.5 million dollars. Now when I hear the words million dollar mansion immediately I think wow, I bet that is something! Followed by, how in the world would I clean that thing if I could afford it? Then my next thought would be, a mansion? How on earth do I decorate it?
I know a thing or two about kids getting bored during the summer months. I should, I have 3 kids. I have raised one and currently have a teen at home who will before long start with the typical 'I'm bored' pleas. Over the years I've learned, it is not enough to have the latest, greatest gaming system, every game for said system known to man. The newest Iphone or tablet won't do the trick either. I
Excuse you? I think it is safe to say that school lunch has evolved since I was in jr high and high school. A friend of mine sent me this the other day along with the message, 'all we had was a stinkin snack bar with hot pockets back in the day.' lol It's so true. I remember hearing all about lunch after elementary school. It was a big deal.
I came across this story on Reddit and as a mom of 3, I get it. I say yes! Good for you parents! A mother created a new house rule for her teenage daughter and now her daughter is furious with momma. As a mom who has already gone through those tough teenage years with one of my kiddos, I can just imagine the eye rolls, the silent treatment, the att-i-tude that her teens are giving her.
It is so true when they say you should never get rid of your old clothes and shoes, because they could come back in style someday. I have an older sister who had the coolest bell bottoms and wedge heels in the early 80's that I used to play around in as a child. I would have given my right arm to be able to fit in them at the time, I played dress up and felt so glamorous.
This caught my attention real quick as the mother of a 14 year old. Apparently, Pfizer is waiting on the 'go-ahead' to begin vaccinating kids. Let me start by saying, I did choose to get the vaccine. For my safety and that of my children, I have now had both of my shots and I've got my little COVID vaccine card put away. (if you did wonderful if you chose not to that's great too)
Who has bored teens at home? The struggle. Do they need a little summer j-o-b? I remember I was the babysitting queen during my teenage years because my dad was not trying to let me sit at home and do nothing all summer long. lol
Time for another edition of 'how lazy are your kids?' Ok it's really the first edition but whatever. lol I know I'm not the only one with a lazy teen in this world. One of the daily struggles in our household is when my teen steals toilet paper from his little brother's bathroom and it's not discovered until my little one has to go. (insert eye roll here)
