When the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton hits theaters this week, it will star Corey Hawkins as Dr. Dre. But did you know Dre was originally supposed to be played by Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan, who dropped out because of scheduling conflicts with Fantastic Four? That’s just one of the facts packed into the latest episode of You Think You Know Movies, which takes you through South Central for a trip into Straight Outta Compton!

I can’t even begin to tell you guys how excited I am about Straight Outta Compton!

The new Straight Outta Compton trailer is here and it doesn’t look like what you’d expect. If you went back in time a few decades and told the members of highly controversial hip hop group N.W.A. that they would one day be the subject of a glossy, mainstream biopic, they would probably wouldn’t believe you. But here we are: the “world’s most dangerous group” has its own Hollywood movie now.

It’s about time!!! Don’t get me wrong. I love new music but the golden age of hip hop and rap for me was in the early 90’s when a little group known as NWA busted the scene WIDE OPEN!!!
