We have an update to a story we told you about back last year where a Tyler man was indicted on federal charges that he pretended to be a military war hero to scam money out of investors.
Tis the season for....scams. Unfortunately. Gosh this time of year it seems the 'scammers' are out to get everyone. I had someone recently try to charge to my credit card and thankfully I was alerted before things got out of hand but some are not so lucky.
When I saw this story with our news partner NewsWest 9, the hair on my arms stood up. Apparently the latest with 'scammers' is to offer you a job but in reality all they want to do is steal your information. It made me cringe hearing about this because I do believe this almost happened to a dear friend of mine recently....
Yay me! My package has arrived! Wait a minute, I'm not even expecting anything, I haven't ordered anything lately which tells me this must be a SCAM. Does anyone else receive these types of emails regularly? I'm such a skeptic, I always just assume it's a virus or identity theft type of situation and just DELETE!
