Joe DeLeon "Little Joe" Hernandez joins very rare company with an incredible recognition from The National Endowment for the Arts, and brings some amazing prestige home to Killeen-Temple, Texas.

March 31st of this year was the 27th anniversary of a Texas legend's passing, Selena Quintanilla Perez. It is also the 25th anniversary of the movie in which Jennifer Lopez was cast to play the 'queen of Tejano music.' So many milestones for us fans to be able to honor Selena's music and her legacy both nationally and on a local level as well.

Growing up, I distinctly remember running around the house doing what little girl's do. Helping mom in the kitchen, heading outside to hit up the neighborhood kids and see who wanted to come out and play, then heading back home again when I was tired or hungry. My mom would be finishing up a meal and would tell me to go outside and tell my dad the food was ready.

You are either an I will start listening to Christmas music right after Halloween or I don't want to listen to Chrsimtas music at all because it's extremely annoying kind of person. There is really no in-between. I am the yes, bring on the Christmas music yesterday type person! I'll listen to my favorites in July, I don't care, that's how much I love it!

I love this time of year for so many reasons and one reason imparticular is the music! I love listening to all the Christmas cd's I've collected over the years. I have everything from Christina Aguilera, to Rosie O'Donnell with Sesame Street characters and Pentatonix. But my very favorite of all time is....

I found myself getting into the spirit this weekend. Yes, I was flipping through stations and found a little Christmas music and listened awhile. I figure we are 45 days away, why not? I have friends and family who are so ready for Christmas they've even started putting up the decorations.
