With last week's 'snowpocalypse' below freezing temperatures that we all dealt with, many shelters, churches and organizations opened up their doors to help those in need. I saw on social media countless families whose power went out that were forced to improvise and salvage what food they had in their refrigerators and freezers. This is exactly what happened to one local nonprofit.

The 4th Annual Rip & Grip Golf Tournament benefitting the Midland Lee Girls Rebel Softball program will be taking place this Saturday, October 5th. If you would like to get your team entered and support an amazing group of athletes, you are invited to do so. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

The First Responders Softball Challenge, benefitting police and fire associations will be taking place tonight at Rockhounds Stadium. The Midland  vs Odessa Softball Challenge begins at 7:30 p.m.

Bone of Contention will be taking place next Friday and Saturday, August 18th and 19th to benefit Midland firefighter Phillip Koonce. The event will take place at Penwell Knights Raceway at 319 South FM 1601 in Penwell, TX. All proceeds will benefit Mr. Koonce who suffered severe injuries in a 10 car pile-up recently.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of the recent passing of one of our dear friends, Kathy Lujan. If you ever had the pleasure of winning a birthday cookie from B93, it was Kathy the 'cookie lady' who supplied us with those for at least four years.

This Saturday, September 7th, make plans to attend the 3rd Annual Furr Ball Charity Event, at the Midland Country Club and benefitting The Midland Humane Coalition.
