Obviously Fort Cavazos would be special simply by being in Texas, but it also has been a central place in the advancement of the greatest technology Earth has ever created.

Whether you are a resident of Killeen, Bell County, Central Texas, or anywhere else across the globe, there is now an unbelievable experience waiting for you just south of the west gate to Fort Cavazos right next to the visitor's center. That opportunity is the National Mounted Warrior Museum.
Not only does the museum have a massive main hall featuring the United States' history of mounted warfare, it is totally free to attend Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 AM to 5 PM, and you do not even need a visitor's pass because it is located just south of the post.
