As revealed by KVUE, Atkinson has made his car his home for the time being. Not only that, is was stated his car's air conditioning does not work, and both his personal belongings and laundry are in the vehicle too. Atkinson, as he told KVUE, lives in his car because of debts he needs to repay, as well as this:

"With apartment complexes now checking credit to get approved, I can't even get approved at places I can afford and I make, technically, too much for income-based housing."

Worries About Texas Teachers Being Able To Afford Items

Atkinson's issues aren't simply just his. The President of Texas State Teachers Association, Ovidia Molina told the news organization:

"I can tell you that many of our educators are living paycheck to paycheck..."We have teachers that leave the profession because they're going to make more money and be able to raise a family, to be able to purchase a home."

For Atkinson himself, he's hoping to raise enough money to completely pay off the debt he has, and eventually, find a home to stay in. A link to Atkinson's GoFundMe can be found here.
