Something new is coming to Amarillo this Christmas. Most people believe that Jesus is the reason for the season, and that is what Christmas is truly about. Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.  A new event is starting to celebrate the story of Jesus birth.

If you look around the area, you will notice many holiday decorations featuring the Nativity scene with Mary and Joseph, the wise men, the angel, all the animals in the manger, and the star of the story, baby Jesus.

One of the most decorated neighborhoods is Candy Cane Lane. Candy Cane Lane is located on Gainsborough between Bell and Coulter, and it is like driving into a Christmas wonderland. It is one of the best places in Amarillo to experience Christmas lights.

What Inspired the New Nativity Event

Santa Chrys is one of the real Santa's helpers during the Christmas season.  He spends a lot of time on Candy Cane Lane visiting with children and having snowball fights with the Grinch.  He asked if anyone would attend a simple telling of the very first Christmas, which, of course, is the story of Jesus birth. The feedback and positive response were so huge that they will be sharing the story of Jesus Christ's birth on Candy Cane Lane on Christmas Eve.

Details for the Candy Cane Lane Christmas Eve Gathering

The event will take place on Wednesday night, December 24, at 6 pm at 7114 Gainsborough on Candy Cane Lane.
