A trip to a laundromat in northwest Houston ended in the arrest of three people accused of locking a 6-year-old boy in a dryer and turning it on as punishment for "losing a bag of chips."

Harris County deputies responded to Hi Tek Washateria located at 13075 Kuykendahl Rd after a bystander became concerned about the safety of a child who was allegedly locked inside a clothing dryer.

When police arrived, they found the child was "visibly shaking and crying."

Authorities learned while further investigating that the little boy had become upset after he lost a bag of chips. The boy was there with three adults, one of which was 18-year-old Haven Duncan, who is accused of locking him inside the dryer while they searched for the chips.

The other two adults present with the child, 20-year-old Jaqory Gill and 19-year-old Life Ford allegedly kept the child from getting out of the dryer. According to witnesses, the ordeal lasted roughly 5 minutes.

Cops attempted to arrest the three adults involved, but they did not give up easily. Gill evaded arrest on foot and was later located and arrested. Ford pushed an officer who was chasing her but was quickly caught. Duncan was arrested on the scene and police later discovered he had a loaded gun on him.

All three suspects were booked into Harris County Jail and the child was released to a guardian called to the scene. Child Protective Services was made aware of the incident.
