I am always looking for 'low cal' ways to cook for myself as opposed to the food my family eats. I am that person. I cook for my loved ones, then I will make a separate meal for myself. They are not on a diet, why should they have to eat the 'healthy' food that mom eats? lol

You probably hear me on the regular talking about our friends with United Supermarkets and Market Street. It is no secret that that is where Leo and I shop. Not together but separately and often. lol I am a fan of the ready meals, Leo prefers the bakery. Those thumbprint cookies tho!

Ok who is ready? I think this time of year we all start to get pretty anxious for football season! These Friday Night Lights will be lit real soon and the time cannot come soon enough for myself and for so many in the 432. There is something about the lights, the roaring of the crowd, the band wailing and of course the action on the field!

To quote a very dear, close friend, 'I be gettin on my own nerves sometimes I swear!' lol Shopping online then picking it up curb side is a real struggle y'all. We typically purchase the same things in our household so I truly thought I had it down to a science as far as ordering exactly what I wanted online, until I didn't.

Like many parents, for the past couple of weeks, we have been doing the back to school routine. School clothes shopping, making sure the correct school supplies have been bought, are shots are up-to-date? Dr, eye dr and dentist appointments made to make sure all is well with the littles and paperwork galore is filled out.

I like to eat. I'm a healthy latina and I love my food, especially what I grew up eating...mexican food! I will always say homemade, momma's cooking is hands down the best but I will never be able to recreate what she did. The food I grew up eating is by far the best. We all think that about momma's cooking am I right?

If you are new to the Permian Basin, you may not know about a few visitors, or should I say residents we have around town. My kids and I like playing a little game while driving the streets of Odessa to see who can spot the jackrabbits! It's true, there are 31, bright and colorful jackrabbit statues throughout the city of Odessa. It is our own little tourist attraction.

I drive by this building on a regular basis. I would always see a sign that said 'Southwest Office Building' and sometimes wondered what it is actually used for? If you have ever driven down 42nd st. then you would see it too. However, a few weeks ago I was surprised to see that the building I would pass by and wonder what the heck it was for so long was now being demolished!

Ummm I thought Megan Thee Stallion said this was supposed to be a 'hot girl summer?' Someone forgot to pass those lyrics on to Mother Nature! lol This summer has been anything but hot. We have had more rainy days and temps below average this summer than any summer I can remember.
