Time for another edition of 'what is that going to be?' I can usually ask around and get an answer pretty quickly, but in this case, I'm clueless, and no one else seems to have an answer either. I like to be in the know about some things, and this is one of them. Especially in such a noticeable, stand-out location.

What is that going to be in front of Sam's off highway 191 in Midland? Right next to the Sam's gas pumps, there is a good-sized building that was once home to First Basin Credit Union, but that particular location has since closed with no plans to reopen. So what now?

Could a new bank be taking its place? That is an excellent location for a new restaurant, but what? Mexican food? Italian? Or perhaps a new sports bar because we just don't have enough of those in this area. *in my best sarcastic voice*

Ideally, what do I think belongs there? I will insert my two cents here. I think a convenience store would be great in this spot. I have seen Walmart convenience stores in big cities, and I think this is a great concept. Since Sam's Club is a part of the Walmart family, this is not too far-fetched.

Turn the building into a Walmart convenience store, switch the gas pumps nearby to go along with the store, and voila, problem solved! I can spend a few hours in Sam's, gas up on my way out and grab a bag of chips and a soda and be on my merry way!

Seriously, if you know what they are turning this currently empty building into, share the scoop. This girl wants to know.
