Why Wouldn’t You Use Your Giftcard?

Did you know that EVERY year 2 billion dollars worth of gift cards go unused or unredeemed after Christmas? Who are these people and why don't they call me to spend this money?

This is just unbelievable to me! If I get a giftcard for the holidays that thing is burning a whole in my wallet until I use it up. Trust, no matter what store it is, I will find something to buy. I'm assuming people forget about them or just don't care to shop at the place where they receive it from? What would be the reason and have you ever done this? Or more importantly, like myself, have you already gone out and used up your giftcards that you got for Christmas?
