WHERE’S THE RUNWAY? 87TH ST IN ODESSA

A plane made an emergency landing today in an Odessa neighborhood on 87th street near Rainbow. Just saw the story on Newswest 9 where they said the plane was flying into Schlemeyer Field  from Arizona when it began to run out of fuel. When the pilot realised he wasn't going to have enough gas to get to the airport he decided to find the biggest area he could find to land the plane ; that being 87th street in Odessa. Thankfully no one was hurt. Can you imagine riding down that street and the next thing you see is a plane coming down to land in front of you? What's even crazier is everybody had to clear the way to let the plane take off after getting fuel. Just another quiet afternoon in West Texas.
