When the BET Hip Hop Awards come around, rap fans know it's time for some major action. The game's biggest names come together to compete for top honors in every category from Album of the Year to Best Hip Hop Video.

This year, at the 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards, Snoop Dogg is being honored with the I Am Hip Hop Icon Award, which leaves the rest of the nominees with some pretty big shoes to fill when it comes to taking the win in their respective categories. Look at Drake, who leads the pack with a whopping 14 nominations. For Best Hip Hop Video, the Toronto MC's "Hotline Bling" has steep competition against 2 Chainz's “Watch Out," Desiigner's “Panda,” DJ Khaled's “I Got the Keys,” Fat Joe and Remy Ma's “All the Way Up” and Kanye West's “Famous.”

One of the most prestigious awards of the night will be Album of the Year, which features Drake's Views, DJ Khaled’s I Changed A Lot, Dr. Dre’s Compton, Fetty Wap’s self-titled LP, Future’s DS2 and Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo vying for the win. Then there's Best New Hip Hop Artist, an award shining a light on the newest entertainer to take the hip-hop world by storm. Anderson .Paak, Bryson Tiller, Chance The Rapper, Desiigner and Tory Lanez are all well-deserving of the win but only one can take home the honor.
