The Scott Sign Is Going Away Soon

Crazy how just a couple of months ago I happened to be in the area in Odessa and snapped a pic of the 'iconic' Scott sign. Now I hear it's going away real soon. The old Scott theater brings back some great childhood memories for me. I used to go with my parents, aunts and uncles and watch movies there! 

That definitely dates me and though the demolition of the sign and building means nothing to most people, it brings back some happy memories for me. The building itself, from what I hear, is not salvageable and there is no sense in sending a crew up for repairs for fear of someone getting hurt. Same with the actual sign which would take hundreds of thousands of dollars to try and preserve. Goodbye to a landmark in this area, many of us will stay have some great memories and stories to tell for generations to come!
