For as long as many of us can remember, it's been red, yellow, green. Granted, in some places, you see a separate part of the light that shows protected greens or yellow or whatever. But generally, the 3-color combo is what we've known.
Now, whether some people in the Dallas and Tyler, Texas area actually understand what those colors MEAN is another conversation entirely. Yeah, we're looking at you, yellow light speeder-uppers! (That's a technical term, of course.)
It may not be too surprising to hear that a state our size has four of the deadliest intersections in the United States. It seems like everywhere you drive these days in Texas there is a good chance another driver is not paying attention to what they are supposed to be doing or they are just disregarding any and all traffic laws...
It never fails, someone you know moves away and within a few months they're saying I sure miss this restaurant or that business. Because lets face it, even though some of us complain on the daily that there ain't a dang thing to do in Midland-Odessa, there are still some things you would genuinely miss if you moved away.
Things that frustrate the crap out of me. Long lines at traffic lights when I don't expect it. That is how it went down this week. With all of the transplants here in the 432 in the last few years, I'm used to a little more traffic than usual, specifically on 42nd st. in Odessa and Andrews Hwy. going into Midland. But this one I did not see coming...
Are you a honker? lol Every now and then I am sitting at a red light, chillin waiting for it to change and all of a sudden I hear honking. Not at me, because my worst fear at a stop light is spacing out or being on my phone and not realizing the light has turned green and get honked at!
