Odessa

Your first Father-Daughter dance is packed full of memories. Omigosh I think I was about 7 or 8 and I distinctly remember being so excited about it! I was in Girl Scouts and when they announced that we would be having a father-daughter dance I immediately went home that day, told my daddy about it and he said yes we will go! A girl's first love and first Valentine, her daddy.

Ok so apparently Odessa Crime Stoppers has jokes! I came across this post and had to laugh and share. Just in time for Valentine's Day, I love what the post says, 'if you have an ex-Valentine and you know they have outstanding warrants, give us a call, let us know your ex's location and we will take care of the rest!' Savage. But also genius.

If you have lived in the Permian for all or most of your life, you know of all the restaurants that have come and gone. We have had some good ones over the years, and we also have our mainstays. We have our favorites that we visit regularly, the place where everybody knows your name and what your drink and food order will be.

I had the pleasure of visiting a fairly new business in Odessa the other day. They just opened in November and I kept hearing about it, I even liked them on Facebook, I just had not had the chance to stop by until this week. Wow! Just wow. A gorgeous new store in Odessa off of 2nd st. Ladies, you have to stop in and check out La Catrina & Co. at 301 W. 2nd st.

If highway 385 is not one that you travel often let me give you a heads up about the latest there so you don't make the same mistake I did the other day! There are now officially two overpasses on 385 going into Odessa and even though this is a regular commute route for me, I forgot and missed my turn.

As you drive to and from work, school and home every single day, you tend to get into a routine and sometimes could drive your regular route with your eyes closed. Don't do it but still. lol I am on a few different routes everyday but there is one imparticular that I will avoid if possible. For me, it is one of the most dangerous intersections in the 432.

So I've got my favorite Mexican food restaurants. My go-to restaurants to grab my favorite #3 combo meal and be on my way. But I love when someone recommends a new place to eat, specifically a little 'hole in the wall' restaurant that may not be aesthetically pleasing on the outside but guaranteed you will enjoy some of the best Mexican food you have ever eaten! It never fails, someone you know moves away and within a few months they're saying I sure miss this restaurant or that business. Because lets face it, even though some of us complain on the daily that there ain't a dang thing to do in Midland-Odessa, there are still some things you would genuinely miss if you moved away.

Customer Service. Those 2 words together are scary. Why you ask? Because customer service in this area is not at all what it used to be. You know where you are guaranteed to get consistently good customer service? 'My pleasure.' Duh, Chick-fil-A! The employees can be having the worst day and through gritted teeth you are still going to hear those 2 magic words. They understood the assignment.  Rea

I don't know about you but I am a Guy Fieri fan. Hands down, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives is my show. Even if I've seen an episode before, don't count me out, I'm down to watch again in case I missed something the first time. I especially love when Guy comes to Texas. I have kept track of several restaurants throughout the state that he has visited in the hopes of trying them out one day!
