Midland

As you drive to and from work, school and home every single day, you tend to get into a routine and sometimes could drive your regular route with your eyes closed. Don't do it but still. lol I am on a few different routes everyday but there is one imparticular that I will avoid if possible. For me, it is one of the most dangerous intersections in the 432.

So I've got my favorite Mexican food restaurants. My go-to restaurants to grab my favorite #3 combo meal and be on my way. But I love when someone recommends a new place to eat, specifically a little 'hole in the wall' restaurant that may not be aesthetically pleasing on the outside but guaranteed you will enjoy some of the best Mexican food you have ever eaten! It never fails, someone you know moves away and within a few months they're saying I sure miss this restaurant or that business. Because lets face it, even though some of us complain on the daily that there ain't a dang thing to do in Midland-Odessa, there are still some things you would genuinely miss if you moved away.

Customer Service. Those 2 words together are scary. Why you ask? Because customer service in this area is not at all what it used to be. You know where you are guaranteed to get consistently good customer service? 'My pleasure.' Duh, Chick-fil-A! The employees can be having the worst day and through gritted teeth you are still going to hear those 2 magic words. They understood the assignment.  Rea

Despite the last couple of days feeling like summer,  believe it or not, this Thursday, snow could be falling in the Permian Basin. We have sunny days most of this week with a 20% chance of snow as we look toward the weekend. In case you are not from Midland/Odessa, here are some good things to know as we gear up for the snowfall. And by that I mean probably little to no accumulation...usually. lo

What is that going to be to the south of Osaka in Midland off of Tradewinds Boulevard? I am in that area quite frequently and I kept wondering? One day I thought duh, who better to ask than someone at Osaka? So I called and still got no answers. Savage. You talk about a closely guarded secret! The person that I spoke to on the phone just kept saying 'I don't know, I don't know.'

Are you a straw person? I have to to have a straw with every drink. Water, tea, soda. Even my coffee at work, I use the stirrer as a straw. At restaurants they typically give you straws with whatever you order to drink but at home it is entirely up to you to have them or not.

Not all fries are created equal. It is up to you how you like your fries. Extra salty, steak, thin, crispy, crinkle, no salt, ketchup, no ketchup? I will go for crinkle any day but sometimes I like to change it up. Thank goodness for the many options we have here in the 432 to satisfy my french fry taste buds.

Our family loves to travel. Always on the go for real. Which means we meet lots of different people from all walks of life and even though I'm not much of a small talker (shocker I know) my man is, so it is not unusual to engage in conversation with complete strangers on the regular.

Tis the season that the kids want to pay a visit to Santa every chance they get. As a mother of 3, that has been the case in our household for years. Every mall Santa, every Christmas light display Santa, Christmas party Santa gets a visit from us to assure my little ones get exactly what they want on Christmas morning!
