Solange made her first appearance on Saturday Night Live over the weekend to perform songs from her No. 1 album, A Seat at the Table. The R&B sensation performed two of the standout tracks on the LP, “Cranes in the Sky” and “Don’t Touch My Hair.”

For her first set, Solange appeared on stage wearing a glittering headpiece that resembles a dreamcatcher with a matching sparkling dress. Backed by her band and three female dancers dressed in all-white, Solange serenaded the audience with her tender lyrics from “Cranes in the Sky.” The 30-year-old singer also mimic some of the dance moves that she did in her tranquil music video.

For her second performance, Solange changed into a white outfit with silver boots and performed “Don’t Touch My Hair,” her ode to women empowerment. “Don’t touch my pride,” she sings before breaking out into a dance. R&B crooner Sampha join in and provided his falsetto vocals to the performance.

Solange's older sister Beyonce and mother Tina Lawson were reportedly backstage cheering her on. “Soo proud of my baby on SNL. Right now," wrote Mama Tina on her Instagram page.

Next week will be a big show for Saturday Night Live. Comedian Dave Chappelle will come out of his self-imposed retirement and host the show for the very first time along with musical guest A Tribe Called Quest.
