The family of slain New Orleans rapper BTY YoungN is one step closer to finding out what lead to his death. A second suspect has been named in connection to the murder of the rapper, who was shot and killed on April 29 at the age of 27.

Kyron Williams, 27, was previously named as a person of interest and is now wanted by New Orleans police on a second-degree murder charge in the fatal shooting of BTY YoungN, The New Orleans Advocate reports.

Court records show Williams' criminal history includes illegal carrying of a weapon, marijuana convictions and domestic-abuse battery in N.O.

Two weeks after BTY YoungN's death, Darryl "Dino" Bannister, 31, was arrested on a count of second-degree murder related to the slaying. He was the first suspect related to the case that was taken into custody. NOPD said a cellphone found at the scene of the crime links Bannister to the rapper's murder. However, DNA found on the phone belongs to someone other than Bannister.

Bannister remains in jail on $350,000 bail, but could possibly be released later this month if authorities don't secure an indictment charging him with murder to keep him in custody.

His criminal history in New Orleans shows guilty pleas to aggravated battery, racketeering, public intimidation and gang enhancement, a felony committed for the benefit or direction of a gang.

BTY YoungN, born Desmone Jerome, was shot and killed at a Shell gas station in the 9200 block of Airline Highway of Hollygrove, N.O. on April 29. At the time of his death, his mother, Gabrielle Jerome, had her own conclusion as to what sparked his murder. “Jealousy is behind it. Because of his success as a rapper,” she explained. “He would literally give you the shirt off his back. He loved kids to death. It’s just rough."

Shortly before being shot and killed, BTY YoungN gained more visibility in the rap scene as a result of Birdman's co-sign. The Cash Money Records head honcho welcomed BTY YoungN into the Rich Gang outfit, where Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan once found success.

When news of BTY YoungN's death began circulating, Birdman was at the center of heated criticism, namely on social media, for deleting all photos on his Instagram page, including those with the murdered rapper.
