A string of alleged altercations have led many people to question if Cardi B should be placing herself in situations where fights can occur. Now, after an alleged run-in with Nicki Minaj at a 2018 New York Fashion Week event, Remy Ma is coming to the defense of Cardi and claims people are putting unrealistic expectations on the Invasion of Privacy rapper.

While Cardi is already one of hip-hop's biggest names, the rapper has only been a mainstream star since 2017 and Remy says fans can't expect her to change in an instant. During the first episode of State of the Culture on Revolt, co-host Joe Budden argued that Bardi is no longer a "hood bitch from the Bronx," but Remy quickly fired back.

"So, who is she? Because she makes more money now, she was born somewhere else?" Remy argued. "She's been Cardi B, the bitch from the Bronx, for 25 years. She's been Cardi B, the bitch with the No. 1 record for one year," the rapper continued, adding, "Sometimes people put these unrealistic expectations because you make a certain amount of money."

The alleged incident between Cardi and Minaj occurred on Sept. 7 during the Harper's Bazaar Icons party at the Plaza Hotel. Footage from the run-in shows the "Be Careful" rapper yelling, "Like some shit about my daughter again." The Bronx artist can also be heard shouting, “Bitch, come here" at Minaj.

Nicki has since come out and discussed the incident, calling it mortifying and humiliating. "I could not believe how humiliated it all felt because we—and I use we loosely, and I'ma clarify we—how we made ourselves look," the Queen rapper said.
