For those of us who grew up in the 432, there are a lot of places we remember as kids that are no longer a part of the scene. I could go on and on down the list but I'm interested to see what you guys remember from the 80's and 90's, so here are just a few of my favs and why they were awesome to me.

I can't remember the name of it but one of the first on my list is that mini golf place that used to be right across from the Ector County Coliseum. Sherwood Acres? When dad said we were going there, that was the definition of gettin' turnt up on the weekend back in the day. As a matter of fact, I think Putt Putt was the last mini golf place in the entire area.

Who remembers Discovery Zone? Now THAT was the ultimate child fantasy land. Do any of you guys remember that one room in the maze of insanity that was basically nothing but a bunch of bungee chords stretched out across it in random directions? You could enter the area several ways but my favorite thing to do was come in from the top and just let my body go limp and free fall from the ceiling to the floor which resulted in me being jerked in every possible direction before hitting the ground. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure its things like that, that resulted in the place no longer existing.

While DZ was the best thing ever if you were like me. (by that I mean very acrobatic with an unlimited amount of energy and looking to scare the living hell out of your parents) I have to give my crown of nostalgia to the one and the only Peter Piper Pizza. 100 on a spelling test? PETER PIPER PIZZA! Seriously, I'm pretty sure the first time Drake went "0 to 100 real quick" it was on a spelling test because his dad promised him Peter Piper. Sister pooped in the potty for the first time? PETER PIPER PIZZA! Got your cast off from falling through the bungee chords at Discovery Zone? PETER  PIPER PIZZA! That is responsible for my life long addiction to video games. I played the greatest and most violent fighting game of the 90's for the first time there. Mortal Kombat '92 represent!
