It's not often Kendrick Lamar hops on other artist's tracks, but when he does, it's for an important occasion. The DAMN. rapper lends another epic guest verse to YG Hootie's new song "The City," which pays homage to both of the MCs' hometown of Compton, Calif.

Those that hail from Compton could easily take to the new anthem. The lyrical spitters both deliver some inspiring and upbeat verses over the Eardrummers' DJ FU-produced instrumental, which features some hard-hitting bass. While Hootie raps about getting love in his own city, K. Dot spits some cold bars about working hard in the streets of his own community.

"My city never want for nothing (Never want for nothing, aye)/My city love it when I'm hustling (Love it when I'm hustling, aye)," he raps. "I flipped the merchandise already (I flipped the merchandise)/I been a mogul when I'm heavy (I am an enterprise)."

This is far from the first time that Kendrick has worked with YG Hootie, as the two teamed up for their previous track together, "Two Presidents."
