Friday Night Football

Tell me if this sounds familiar? Every now and then you come across someone who is not from Texas, you make small talk, blah, blah, work, blah, blah, family and then.....isn't this where the movie Friday Night Lights came from? And you respond (for the thousandth time) yes it is. Funny how the conversation always goes that route and trust, we have ALL been there at some point....

Well I encountered that today. Met a person from Massachusetts who could not believe that West Texas, or Texas in general is "all about football" as they put it. What's the big deal? And why is the past time on a Friday night a highschool football game for most? I have to laugh at these types of questions because the "outsiders" make it seem like this is such a horrible situation and even torturous for those of us who partake. I usually just say you will never understand until you experience it for yourself. The way I see it poor guy is missing out! Just thought I would share my story. By the way, Good Luck to ALL of our area teams on Friday Night, safe travels, may the best team win (with no injuries I hope) and LONG LIVE FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL BABY!!!!!!!
