Bruno Mars shows he improved from his 2010 debut effort, 'Doo-Wops & Hooligans,' and he got two big wins at the Video Music Awards to show for it. He won for Best Male Video -- beating Robin Thicke's racy 'Blurred Lines' and Justin Timberlake's 'Mirrors' -- for 'Locked Out of Heaven.'

The singer's track 'Treasure' is a throwback to the '70s, Earth, Wind, & Fire-style vibes. The visual for the song won Best Choreography, beating Chris Brown's 'Fine China' and Ciara's 'Body Party.'

These are Mars' first VMA awards after being nominated for four in 2011.
