October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This month you will see the pink ribbon that represents breast cancer everywhere you go.

This year it is estimated that close to 15,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer according to the American Cancer Society. What is more shocking to me is that this number only applies to women in Texas. Breast cancer does not discriminate, it can affect men and women of just about any age. The key is early detection, so if you are over 40 it is recommended that you get checked. For more information, check out the American Cancer Society website.
