Birthday Freebies-Where Are They Available?

Does the 'if it's free it's me' saying hold true for anything? Even birthdays? Recently, a coworker celebrated a birthday and had signed up for so many it's my birthday freebies, pretty much anything he ate or drank on his birthday was completely free! lol 

Pretty cool if you ask me, but my question is, how do you find out about these things? More importantly where can I get signed up? Do you sign up for free goodies and if so where? Do tell!
