The 2018 XXL Freshman Class heads west. Today (June 12), XXL reveals the date and time for the 2018 Freshman showcase at The Novo in Los Angeles.

When that day arrives, this year’s Freshman class, which includes Fort Lauderdale, Fla.’s Ski Mask The Slump God, Miami’s Lil Pump, Miami’s Smokepurpp, Atlanta’s J.I.D, London’s Stefflon Don, Memphis’ BlocBoy JB, Birmingham, Ala.’s YBN Nahmir, West Palm Beach, Fla.’s Wifisfuneral and Canton, Ohio’s Trippie Redd., will showcase all of the talent that helped make them into certified rap stars.

While most of the XXL Freshman class will perform, there is a chance the entire class won't be in attendance.

This class, which features four artists from Florida, one from Georgia and another from Memphis, serves to spotlight the dominance of the South and SoundCloud rap. On the other hand, it also shines a light on Trippie’s native Canton while giving a larger platform for London's Stefflon Don.

Although there’s a heavy concentration of southern artists, no two rappers in this year’s class are too similar. With a striking blend of melodic-leaning rappers, lyricists and hitmakers, the 2018 XXL Freshman is a perfectly kaleidoscopic blend of the best rising talents the world of hip-hop has to offer.

Doors open at The Novo at 7 p.m. PST, while the show, which is for all ages, will begin at 8 p.m. You can cop tickets to the 2018 XXL Freshman show below.
