Today marks the 20th anniversary of the death of Selena Quintanilla Perez. On March 31st, 1995 we lost the 'Queen of Tejano.' Hard to believe it has been so long but true Selena fans plan to honor her in so many different ways throughout the next couple of months...

I know many people from this area are planning to attend Fiesta De La Flor, a several day event set to take place in Corpus Christi on April 17 & 18th, featuring A.B. Quintanilla and the Kumbia King All Starz, Chris Pérez, Little Joe Y La Familia, Los Lobos and many other performers.

San Antonio, TX is planning their own way of honoring the late Tejano singer; Selena graces the cover of 'the Current' an English language magazine that is released weekly. Plus, coming up in April, the city will host a 5K "Bidi Bidi Fun Run" with all proceeds going to the Selena Foundation, which is designed to help children in crisis. 'Gone but not forgotten' is how we all feel about Selena as we honor her memory today.

One of my coworkers is a huge Selena fan and showed me part of his collection. Who would've thought that if things had been different, she would've been here in Midland less than two months after.

Some of you may remember, Selena performed at Christensen Stadium

And who could forget when she sang Que Creias to that lucky fan! His face is priceless.
